MMA Press Conference: Survey on Macao Management Capability Index 2020

Organized by MMA, sponsored by Macau Foundation, the press conference of “Survey on Macao Management Capability Index 2020 (MMCI)” was held on November 3, hosted by Mr. Tommy Lau, Council Chairman of MMA, Dr. Samuel Tong, President of MIM, Prof. Lei Chan Kuok, Project Consultant of MMA and Ms. Rain Lok, Project Manager of MMA Programme & Consultancy Division.

The survey was conducted in the second quarter of 2020, with a total of 306 respondents who are Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) and senior managers from different organizations in Macao. The result shows that organizations in Macao continue to show strong confidence in the category of “Integrity, Trust and Corporate Governance” with the score of 79.6. Furthermore, it shows that organizations in Macao need to provide more training in "Vision and Strategic Leadership" and "People Leadership and Self-Development" with the score of 68.5 and 69 respectively.

Mr. Tommy Lau stated that MMCI can develop a benchmarking tool for the local enterprises to identify the strength and weakness of their management practices earliest possible for adjustment and optimization. Also, it has significant effects on enhancing the competitive advantages of enterprises in Macao.
