MMA Seminar: Trends in Facility Management
Macau Management Association held a seminar on “Trends in Facility Management” on August 23 (Friday). The seminar was attended by nearly 50 managerial and facility management practitioners from 12 local organizations.
Ms Arnald Ng, professional trainer in facility management and qualified instructor of IFMA was invited to be a speaker who shared the future trends of facility management under the influence of political, economy and globalization factors. Exploring how large enterprises can better achieve theirs core business by improving facility management level. Ng stated that Macau is dominated by gaming industry so that most of the facility management of gaming enterprises had already achieved the world standard. For non-gaming industry, enterprises lack of knowledge and corresponding strategies of facility management. Meanwhile, facility management is similar with property management, conducting various planning, integration, maintenance and managerial procedures to workplace environment. The significant difference between facility management and property management is that property management manages corporate areas, and facility management manages all facilities related to the business in order to maintain business quality and improve the efficiency of investment. In addition, facility management is usually used in multinational and large enterprises, but it also helps small and medium-sized companies to understand the industry trends and market demand in advance, which is believed to help small and medium-sized companies to expand their business in the future.
Furthermore, Ng also shared her precious experience in facility management, and contributes inspiration and resonates to audiences so that they can have a deeper understanding and practical application to their works.
