HR Club Organized Intergenerational Management and Communication Skills Workshop
Organized by MMA Human Resources Professionals Club (HR Club) and sponsored by Macao Foundation, the “Intergenerational Management and Communication Skills in the Workplace Workshop” was successfully held on August 28, with the attendance of Mr. Benjamin Hong, Vice-Chairman of the MMA HR Club, Ms. Hellen Lok, member of the MMA HR Club and Ms. Athena Lo, MMA Secretary General. The workshop was well attended by Human Resource practitioners from various industries.
The workshop was conducted by Mr. Sam Hui, an edutainer and habit coach, who shared key insights into effective cross-generational communication with participants. Through the experience sharing of three participants, examining the dimensions of understanding differences, feedback mechanisms, and the meaning of work, the workshop explored how to bridge the gap with younger colleagues. Mr. Hui pointed out that genuine cross-generational communication does not lie in one-sided accommodation, but in first setting aside existing assumptions and being genuinely curious about the other party's thoughts and circumstances. Only when understanding, feedback, and meaning are all in place can managers dissolve the friction of cross-generational collaboration and foster true teamwork.
