MMA Language Club Organized “Portuguese Azulejo Workshop”

Organized by MMA Language Club, the “Portuguese Azulejo Workshop” was successfully held on July 18, drawing a group of participants interested in this traditional craft to experience the unique charm of Azulejo painting through hands-on practice.

To promote this unique traditional craft, we specially invited Mr. Eddie Ho an experienced art teacher as instructor. Mr. Eddie began with an accessible introduction to the origins, development, and craftsmanship of Portuguese Azulejo painting, helping participants understand this traditional technique, which was inscribed on Macao’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list in 2020. He then guided participants individually through mixing pigments and hand-painting patterns, encouraging participants to incorporate personal creativity into the traditional techniques. During the two-hour workshop, every participant successfully completed their own tile piece.

Language Club is a special interest group of MMA. It periodically holds language gatherings and organizes various activities to encourage participants to engage in foreign languages, thereby enhancing their expressive and communication skills.
