MMA Annual Management Conference 2023
Hosted by Macau Management Association and sponsored by Macao Foundation, the 2023 MMA Annual Management Conference was successfully concluded on September 11 at MGM Macau.
Mr. Chui Sai Cheong, President of MMA; Mr. Tommy Lau, Council Chairman of MMA; Mr. Zhang Yinan, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Policy and Research Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Macao SAR of PRC; Mr. Hou Zhenkun, from the Economic Affairs Department of The Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR; Mr. Bernie Leong, Mr. Jose Tang, Vice-Presidents of MMA; Mr. Vong Hin Fai, Council Vice-Chairman & Honorary Secretary General; Mr. Raymond Bao, Council Vice-Chairman & Honorary Treasurer; Mr. Alex Mok, Mr. Keegan Cheang, Council Vice-Chairmen of MMA; Ms. Jodie Lam, Secretary General of MMA; and Dr. Samuel Tong, President of MIM attended the Conference.
The Conference conducted in hybrid mode focused on the theme “Green Finance: New Driving Force for Development of Corporate Sustainability”. We have invited renowned speakers from industry experts to share their insights on the subjects ranging from the development trends and their practical experiences of green finance.
Addressing the Conference's opening remarks, Council Chairman of MMA, Mr. Lau Veng Seng, said that as one of the core engines for regional development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Macao has unlimited development potentials in its green financial sector. According to “The Second Five-Year Plan for Economic and Social Development of the Macao SAR Government (2021–2025)”, the Government will pragmatically forge ahead and prioritize on “exploring green finance and establishing green finance platform”. With the green transformation approach, Macao enterprises could achieve triple benefits of economic, social and environmental growth while minimizing the risks and burdens places on businesses.
Mr. Ip Sio Kai, Chairman of The Macau Association of Banks; Ms. Judy Li, Partner, Sustainability Services, Ernst & Young Hua Ming LLP, EY Asia-Pacific Sustainability Leader, Financial Services EY Greater China ESG Management Office Head; and Dr. Kenny Siu, Committee Member of GBA Carbon Neutrality Association, Hong Kong were invited to be the speakers to share their experiences and insights.
